Tengiz MIrzashvili was born in Mestia, Svaneti, Georgia in 1934. He was entered at Faculty of painting at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1952. After 3rd grade he continued studying on stage design. He studyed postgraduate studies in 1961. From  that period he was also became a pedagog at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Tengiz was a co-founder of Children Pictures Gallery, where he was working during 1972-2004.  He was invited by Andrei Tarkovsky to design “Hamlet”in 1977. Tengiz Mirzashvili has an important role in Georgian Art.

Artworks by Tengiz Mirzashvili are stored in different museums and private collections in Georgia and abroad (National Museum of Georgia, The State Museum of Oriental Art, Moscow, Russia; National Gallery, Moscow, Russia; Museum of Arts in UZbekistan; Denver, USA;).
