Tamar Botchorishvili

Tamar Bochorishvili (born in 1980) lives and works in Tbilisi. In 1995-1999 she was studying at Tbilisi I. Nikoladze Art Institute (painting direction). From 1999 Tamar was studying monumental-decorative painting at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. In 2002-2005 she continued studying painting at the  Academy of Arts. In 2011-2012 she improved education at Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (media-art direction), Leipzig, Germany.


Tamar Bochorishvili is a multimedia artist and works in different mediums. Basically, her artistic practice includes achieving various experiments by using unknown, unfamiliar new materials. Artist is also  interested in recycling, she often uses damaged or discarded materials in her works. Tamar Bochorishvili artworks -  objects, pictures, video-animations and images are characterized by fragmentation and are configured in different contexts. She explores the topics of family and society, sexuality and body, death and subconsciousness. Artworks by Tamar are stored in different private collection in Georgia and abroad.
