Sergo Kobuladze was born in 1909 in Akhaltsikhe, Georgia. Kobuladze is a Georgian well-known classical artist and public person. In 1925-1930 he was studying at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.  From 1938 he was teaching at the Academy. During 1953-1958 Kobuladze was a rector of Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Kobuladze artistic approach is based on a classical principles of “Golden Cut”. He was also researched Georgian and Antique architecture.


Sergo Kobuladze was a painter at SSR Great Theatre and Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. His most famous work is ceremonial curtain for Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre, designed in 1960.

From 1930 Kobuladze was intensively participated in different exhibitions in Tbilisi, Moscow and other cities. In 1935 he created unique illustrations of “Vepkhistkaosani” (“The Knight in the Panther’s Skin”), which are declared as public heritage and originals are stored in Tretyakov Gallery collections. In 1950’s  Kobuladze’s works were sent in Venice and London. “Dante” by Sergo Kobuladze had a great success.


Artist’s works are stored in different museums, galleries and private collections in Georgia and abroad.
