Pyotr Bletkin was born in Tbilisi in 1903. In 1915, Bletkin started his education in painting at the School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at the Imperial Academy of Arts. He was a student.of  I. A. Sharleman, Y. Tadevosyan, E. Lansere. Artist’s main working medium was painting and graphic and he mostly created portraits and landscape series.  Pyotr Bletkin is an author of Tbilisi landscape series, he also painted different regions of Georgia.  During 1928-1932 he was working  as a decorator at Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. From 1932 he was a member of the Artists Union in Georgia. He got numerous awards. Bletkin awarded as an honoured public artist in 1961. He was participating in different group republican and international exhibitions from 1932. Artworks by Pyotr Bletkin  are stored in different museums, galleries and private collections.
