Mikheil Khvitia was born in Zugdidi in 1924. During 1942-1948 he studied at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts at profesor A. Tsimakuridze. From 1949 he participated different all-union and international exhibitions.  His working medium was painting. Khvitia’s main theme was Georgian nature. He awarded as honoured artist of Georgia in 1961. Artist’s works are stored in museums (National Gallery, Tbilisi, Georgia; Kutaisi Museum, Georgia; Museum of Public Agricultural Achievements, Moscow, Russia) and private collections in Georgia and abroad (Russia, Austria, Netherlands, Germany).
