Irakli Parjiani was born in Mestia, Upper Svaneti, Georgia, in 1950. During 1969-1974 he was studying at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Artist was working in different mediums. Main thematic of Parjiani is religious painting, in which orthodox christian iconography is transformed by his individual expression. In 1992 Parjiani got Georgian State prize and in 1996 he was given Pirosmani award. His artworks are stored in different private collection in Georgia and abroad.
